Sex Foods Aphrodisiac for Your Libido
Here are some of the aphrodisiac foods that is known to be very good for a person’s sex drive:
1. Starwberries: ‘Fruit nipples’ or strawberries have hogged sensuous literature.. In ancient Rome, these little red hearts were known to be symbols of Venus. Honeymooning couples in the French countryside were served cold strawberry soup to enjoy their times together in closed intimacy.
Scientifically speaking, strawberries are abundant in Vitamin C. Dr. Prakash Kothari, eminent sexologist adds, “”Strawberries resemble a man’s testicles, in other words, they are associated with virility. They have long been associated with love, sex and Valentine’s because of their sexual signature or appearance.” Nothing can be a bigger turn on than making love sharing a bowl of little red hearts dipped in cream (or yogurt)-Hollywood style!
2. Asparagus: Folklore has it that boiling and eating light-green stalk or asparagus three days in a row can stimulate lust in both men and women. Asparagus has primeval association with desire enhancing properties.
Asparagus is abundant in potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and Vitamin E; it is the vegetable’s phallic shape that has made it sexually desirable. Ayurveda says that asparagus has the ability to lower the ‘pitta’ (excess heat), in the body, thus calming the man and increasing his libido. Ayurveda says what is good for the body is good for your potency also, hence if it is great for your body, it can work wonders for your sex life too. So, eat asparagus.
3. Chocolates: Many women have confessed to their sinful love for chocolates; they are easily one of the yummiest things that can turn on the fair sex, though it is loved by males too.
Eminent psychiatrist Dr Michael Liebowitz, found out that chocolate contained phenylethylamine (Pea), an amino acid that is also secreted by the body when we are in love. Chocolates also contain mood lifting chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. However, Prakash Kothari believes that chocolates can only make you feel good, not cause sexual excitement. He also adds that it can increase the ‘pitta’ component in the body. So the best advice is not to overdo on chocolates but sharing a bite with your loved one, especially the dark variety-with your partner, can be pleasurable and make you forget the stress.
