10-40% of women have had bacterial vaginosis at least once. http://alturl.com/2vut
Yet bacterial vaginosis is not widely known about and can be easily misunderstood by the medical profession.
Bacterial vaginosis is not caused by a particular organism but by a change in the balance of normal vaginal bacteria or a change in the PH balance. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of harmful bacteria in the vagina due to the depletion of lactobacillus. The vagina normally contains a lot of good bacteria called lactobacilli and some other bacteria called anaerobes. Too many anaerobes can cause this imbalance.
In the USA, 16% of pregnant women have Bacterial vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis is also called Gardenerella-associated vaginitis or non specific vaginitis. It is one of the most common causes of vaginitis symptoms among childbearing women particularly those who are sexually active.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS?
· Excessive, thin gray or white vaginal discharge that sticks to the vaginal walls.
· Fishy or musty, unpleasant vaginal odor, most noticeable after sex.
· Itching and irritation around the vagina.
· Burning during urination.
COMMON SENSE WAYS TO PREVENT BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS http://alturl.com/2vut
· Avoid douching: douching disrupts the balance of the vagina’s natural organisms. It may lead to infection and may also cause the infection to spread up to the reproductive tract. Most douches also contain hydrogen low concentration (PH) which deviates from the normal level, making you prone to more Bacterial vaginosis.
· Keep the vaginal area dry and clean. Wash vaginal area with clean water and dry thoroughly before and after sex.
· Avoid tight fitting jeans. Wear panties that fit well and are made of breathable cotton. The material should be able to absorb moisture and allow air to circulate. Nylon underwear and tights do not absorb moisture. Wear loose fitting trousers and try to avoid wearing nylon pants and tights under tight trousers, especially at night. In fact if you can, especially at night, wear no panties at all and let your vagina breathe!
· Always wipe from front to back after bowel movements to prevent Escherichia colic entering the vagina (Wipe from Vaginal to anus).
· Avoid scented toilet paper, deodorant tampons and other perfumed personal hygiene products.
· Bathing in perfumed water or bubble baths also cause damage by irritating the vaginal area. Soaps, bubble baths all can cause irritation to the vagina. Pour cold water over the perineum. It also helps to prevent urinary infections by washing away germs before they reach the urethra.
· Change tampons or pads frequently.
· Loss excess weight- it makes itching worse.
· Avoid using biological washing powder. Washing powder contains harsh chemicals which can irritate your vagina.
· Avoid vaginal deodorants as they can irritate the mucous membranes. They can make your vagina dry and itchy and can cause allergic reaction.
· Intra-uterine device or IUD for short can put you at increased risk of vaginal or uterine infections. If you are prone to repeated attacks of bacterial vaginosis and you have one fitted, try and talk to your Doctor about other methods of contraception.
· Try cool cabbage leaves to ease the discomfort of burning and itching. Cabbage leaves are used to treat sore nipples and mastitis. Cabbage leaves can be placed on top of a maxi pad to treat vaginitis. You can experience complete relief from burning and itching within a couple of hours.
· Boost your immunity with foods rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C and E, zinc and selenium. Cut down your alcohol intake. An immune system that is weakened by poor nutrition and too much stress does not have a fighting chance of getting back to good health.

Fat Burning Diet – Every Other Day Diet Review
The Every Other Day Diet is designed to restrict calories and burn fat by manipulating calorie intake and tricking your body to think that no restriction has taken place even though it has. This is because if your body knows that calories have been decreased your metabolic rate will slow down causing less calories to be burned. You can still eat all the foods you love and you do not have to count calories, if done correctly!
Fasting to lose weight has become a popular way of dropping pounds. But any sort of fasting solution is temporary. A healthy consistent diet is typically needed for effective weight management. So, eating to lose weight is a much better alternative. The Every Other Day Diet provides a unique approach to weight loss that encourages you to eat to lose the weight.
What is it?
The Every Other Day Diet is a plan that alternates the types of foods you eat from one day to the next. On one day you will limit meals to high protein foods, such as meat, chicken, and fish. Carbohydrates should be limited on the high protein days. On the following day you are allowed to eat pretty much any mix of foods that you’d like including meats, pasta, and snacks.
Sounds a little too easy. Too good to be true. Eating to lose weight? How does it work?
Eating To Lose Weight The author of the diet, Jon Benson, is a well respected fitness and diet expert. He maintains that by following a caloric cycling routine, the body is fooled into thinking that calories are not being restricted, when in fact they are. In most diets where calories are restricted, the body slows the metabolism down to compensate. This means less fat is burned to produce energy. If the body can be fooled into maintaining a high metabolism while calories are restricted at the same time, you produce a far more effective weight loss scenario.
The Every Other Day Diet is broken down into a cycle of “burn days” and “feed days”. During the burn days, you eat only 30-50% of your maintenance caloric intake. During the feed days, you consume up to 150% of your maintenance caloric intake. You are allowed to eat the foods that you like on these days as long as the portions are controlled.
Sounds good. But how do you control portions?
Benson introduces the HOME (Hands on Method of Eating) method to determine how much you should be eating. HOME lays out a means to size portions based on different parts of your hand. It males for an easy visual reference guide to follow when dishing out the plates.
There are three primary plans in the Every Other Day Diet program:
1. Primer – This is the most flexible of the three programs, and allows you to essentially eat whatever you want every other day.
2. Lifestyle – The maintenance program, recommended after the initial primer phase. There are only two “feed days” here, meaning that you can only eat whatever you want for these two days.
3. Extreme – The most strict of the three plans and is meant for athletes and bodybuilders.
Benson recommends that you start with the Primer plan where you can eat what you want every other day. After a certain period (once specific weight loss goals are met) you should move to the Lifestyle plan, which restricts “feed” days to only two per week.
Benson also outlines three caveats to his program. Most weight loss programs hype the results you will see from following their diet guidelines. Benson takes a much more realistic approach by making it clear that his program will only work if:
1. You are dedicated to succeed.
2. You must incorporate some type of exercise program. Any weight loss program that does not include exercise is a scam, as exercise is the single most effective method of burning fat.
3. You must be realistic. The weight is not going to come off overnight. Set your goals so that they are reasonable and attainable.
So, if you are committed to following the plan, exercise, and have realistic goals, you will lose weight. Under this plan, the caloric cycling will ensure that you will lose weight fast. Benson’s research into the workings of the human metabolism are spot on and have been proven in multiple studies. Leveraging the metabolism’s fat burning abilities is an effective way to control your weight.
So, forget about fasting to lose weight. Forget about those lose weight fast fad diets. Eating to lose weight is an effective and long term strategy that will enable you to lose weight and, more importantly, keep it off. The Eating Every Other Day Diet is an effective eating to lose weight diet.

Missing a lot of work or school due to the flu is definitely not good. Beyond having to miss out on your responsibilities, the flu is obviously not a pleasant thing to contend with in general. Many Australians simply accept the fact that they’re destined to catch the flu every year, which is unfortunate since there are many precautions that can be taken to avoid it. By following just a few common sense tips, you can significantly lessen your chances of contracting the flu this season. In turn, you’ll avoid missing out on your important responsibilities and won’t find yourself laid up for days at a time. Learn these tips and discover the difference in being prepared for the flu.
Get The Influenza Vaccine -
Every year, data culled by the World Health Organization is used to create a brand new flu vaccine that helps people avoid coming down with the top three strains of the flu. Flu vaccinations are quite easy to come by, and you should be able to receive one at your doctor’s office or at the local clinic. By receiving the vaccine soon after it is released – around October – you will be protected in plenty of time for flu season. Imagine not having to worry nearly as much about missing work, school or even a fun holiday; with the flu vaccine, you can truly eliminate much of that worry.
Avoid Crowded Places During Flu Season -
The flu is a communicable disease, which means that it is passed along from person to person. We all know that working in an office, for instance, usually means passing the same flu around to everyone; the same phenomenon occurs in schools. You can lessen the risk of getting sick with the flu by avoided crowded places this flu season. For instance, steer clear of shopping centres, races and events such as the Ekka to really reduce the likelihood of catching the flu. Even though this advice is sound for everyone, in particular it applies to those people that fall in to risk categories such the young, pregnant women and the elderly.
Live A Healthy Lifestyle -
Your immune system is strengthened though a healthy lifestyle; a strong immune system is much likelier to ward off the flu. There are two main components to living a healthy life: eating well and getting plenty of exercise. Try to eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible; the vitamins in them help keep your body – and immune system – strong. Exercise also plays a vital part. Try to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise per day. Healthy people just don’t catch the flu as often as unhealthy ones, so keep that in mind.
are really great ways to ward off the flu and to keep yourself as healthy as possible. The team at Aus Vax recommend that instead of missing countless days of work, school or other important things, you can have the and stay on track. It really is amazing what such a simple thing can do in terms of keeping you well and preventing the flu.

Being a fat loss bootcamp owner and personal trainer in Singapore, I am dead serious about helping people reach their fitness, weight loss, fat burning and muscle gaining goals. As expected, we spend A LOT of time talking about the perfect healthful diet. Diet, more than anything else, affects fat loss and fitness! Even if you were attending boot camp 4 times a week on top of personal training sessions, if your diet was crappy, you would NOT reach your goals.
The idea healthful diet should contain a lot of FIBER. Many people have far too little fiber in their diet for optimal health, particularly if that diet is mostly made up of processed foods.
So, what is fiber?
Fiber is the part of the plants we eat that our digestive enzymes can’t break down into absorbable nutrients. The main forms of fiber are soluble fiber, insoluble fiber and resistant starch. All three forms of fiber are usually labelled as “dietary fiber” on food packaging.
Fiber has an essential part to play in maintaining health and an ideal body weight. For instance, fiber buffers the impact of digested food on blood sugar and insulin levels, reducing the promotion of fat storage. Also, high-fiber foods need more time to chew, so your body has more time to register that you’re full, so you’re less likely to overeat, fills you up longer and has more volume for fewer calories.
Here is a breakdown of the 3 different types of fiber and their health benefits:
1. SOLUBLE FIBER: Soluble fiber becomes a gel when dissolved in water. Most of this will be undigested, but a small amount is fermented and partially broken down in the colon. Health benefits of soluble fiber include:
- slowing down digestion so you can absorb nutrients better – helping to regulate blood sugar levels (great for people naturally intolerant of carbohydrates, diabetics and those with prediabetics conditions) -lowering levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholestorol -encouraging growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria while reducing number of bad bacteira
Sources of soluble fiber include most fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, psyllium husks, flaxseeds, barley, dried beans, oat bran and oats.
2. INSOLUBLE FIBER: Insoluble fiber won’t dissolve in water and is not digested any where in the body. It’s mostly made of cellulose (from the cell walls of whatever plant you ate) that leaves the body intact. Health benefits of insoluble fiber include:
- pulling toxins out of the body (very important considering out modern lifestyle and environment) – helping with regular bowel movements =) – helping food move through the gut (one advantage of rapid bowel movements is that it may help minimize our exposure to DNA-damaging chemicals and other toxins in food) – controlling the pH balance in the intestines
3. RESISTANT STARCH: Resistant starch re complex carbohydrates (sugars) that resist digestion and arrive in the colon largely intact. It offers some of the benefits of both soluble and insoluble fiber. An example of a resistant starch is hard bread crust, which resists digestion until it’s in the colon, where it is partially digested by fermentation.
Now for the bottom line – how do we get more fiber in diet?
Here are 4 simple steps!
1. Don’t juice – eat only the whole fruit (apples and oranges etc) or vegetable (carrots). 2. Eat more vegetables! 3. Use a fiber supplement. It’s best to use a gluten-free type of fiber, and switch brands of fiber after week, even if you have no history of gluten sensitivity, as it’s easy for many people to develop gluten sensitivities if stay on the same brand for long (you can alternate between two brands at the end of every week). 4. Eat whole grains instead of refined grains (well, no one should be eating refined grains anyway!)
Enjoy the health benefits of fiber!

When it comes to dieting, far too many people set themselves up for failure before they even begin the process. They literally dread going on their diets and before they start the process are planning their mishaps along the way. Sad to say but true, far too many would be dieters are planning their first Rocky Road mishap while eating their last bowl of Rocky Road before the big event.
I have no idea why we tend to do this to ourselves but it is something I see in dieters everywhere. The far too popular notion is that one must binge on the foods most loved and enjoyed before beginning the dieting process because these things must be completely eliminated in to shed those unwanted pounds. If you are honest with yourself, nothing could be further from the truth. Moderation is simply a concept that many of us are loathe to embrace.
You must change your way of thinking about food and your personal enjoyment of food in for any diet you embrace to be successful. Food isn’t the enemy. And that is something that not enough people really understand. Even the ‘tasty’ foods aren’t the enemy. The enemy is your personal inability to properly portion the foods you eat. The problem is that the vast majority of us eat the wrong foods far more often than we eat the right foods. This is where the problems lie.
Our bodies need the nutrients we are lacking by not eating the five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit each day that we should consume. Our bodies know that something is missing and we feel hungry or deprived. If we were actually consuming the proper balance of fruits and veggies each day we would find that we were far less likely to feel hungry and desire those foods that aren’t as healthy. This means we would be much more likely to enjoy them in moderation as they should be enjoyed.
Portion control is another problem that we have. We live in a society of “up selling”. Super sized fries and empty calories by the gallon of your favorite cola are offered with almost every fast food meal that can be bought. You must learn to say no to these things and avoid situations in which you may feel tempted to partake in these up sized orders.
To be truly successful when dieting you need to embrace the process as building a healthier you rather than depriving yourself of something. Do not think of your weigh loss plan as something negative but rather a positive force in your life to make changes for the better. When you have negative thoughts do not direct them at your diet. When you feel deprived remind yourself that you are depriving your bones of carrying around that excess weight. Remind yourself that you are depriving your wardrobe of those bulky clothes that are designed to hide the bulges. Remind yourself that you are depriving your body of years of bulges and bringing back the body of your youth.
Do not get so caught up in the dieting process that you forget to enjoy some of the goodies that life has to offer. Watching your weight and counting your calories does not mean that you can never go over your allotment. The goal however is to find balance. If you learn to portion your food correctly, indulge in moderation, and incorporate enjoyable calorie burning activities into your daily routine you may be amazed at the results.
Dieting for weight loss and health is only depriving if you allow it to be. If you cannot control yourself when it comes to indulging then by all means avoid indulging. However, if you can learn to incorporate those small treats into your routine in moderation and burn those extra calories as well, then you should find yourself a much happier and more successful ‘dieter’ than you have ever managed to be in the past.

When it comes to the world of dieting you will find that there are many diet, weight loss, and fitness plans on the market. It takes years for some to become a contender and others remain a best-kept secret of sorts. One such ‘best kept’ secret would be the 3 Hour Diet that was designed by Jorge Cruise. I am sure that there are many reading along and chuckling under your breath that there is no way one can lose weight by eating every three hours however the science behind the theory is fairly common and Jorge Cruise is a mainstay in the fitness industry.
The long and short of this diet operates with the knowledge that if you do not feed your body accurately and regularly your body will go into what is called ‘starvation mode’. In this mode your body holds onto the fat rather than burning it up and consuming it for use. This means that your body is burning muscle rather than fat to take the energy it needs in to function.
With the 3 Hour Diet you will not feel hungry all the time, in fact, there are many who claim they are constantly setting alarms and reminding themselves to eat. You will also learn the proper foods to eat in to achieve the best possible results. The key is in learning which foods are right for you when dieting with this plan. You can purchase the book The 3-Hour Diet by Jorge Cruise and you can sign up online for more information about the weight plan itself and how to incorporate it into your busy routine.
I do recommend purchasing the book if you are seriously considering this as your method of dieting as there are many wonderful hints, tips, and tricks that are mentioned in the book to help you keep things going no matter how busy and hectic your lifestyle may be. One thing you need to keep in mind is that dieting with a program such as this is no small commitment. You need to stick to the timetable as much as possible in to achieve the results this plan is famous for. If you aren’t willing to eat every three hours then this plan really may not be the plan for you.
Otherwise, if this is something you would be interested in, I highly recommend it. There are special considerations based on the amount you weight currently and the amount of weight you are hoping to lose. It is best if you are honest throughout the process in to achieve the best possible and most immediate results. The claim is that you can lose as many as 10 pounds in the first two weeks and there are those that have claimed to do just that over and over again. This is a diet that even many celebrities endorse for quick and immediate results.
The good and the bad about 3 hour dieting is that it is effective but takes a very real commitment on the part of the one that is dieting. This diet is one that is taking the world by storm. If you haven’t heard of it before now, please take the time to check it out and see if this is something you could incorporate into your life. The results that have been reported as a result of this diet as nothing short of phenomenal. If there were one diet I would recommend above others for those who hate feeling hungry, it would be this diet.
